Why are more businesses trusting their data to be stored on cloud providers? When it comes to client data, security should be of the utmost importance. Is a provider like AWS truly worth the investment?
What is Amazon Web Service?
Amazon Web Service (AWS) is secure cloud computing services infrastructure. Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a secure cloud services platform. AWS offers secure and scalable storage with Amazon S3.
Why should I use Amazon Web Service?
AWS offers highly scalable resources that can be adjusted on a per need basis. As a result, this allows for a more cost-effective method for storage that can be altered should an unexpected need arise.
AWS is backed by the same infrastructure used by Amazon.com. Also, this allows users to be able to access data quickly, securely, and on-demand.
What is Amazon S3?
Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) is a web-based storage service, used to store and retrieve data. Designed by Amazon, it was built as a user-friendly interface capable of storing and retrieving large amounts of data from anywhere on the web.
This is used primarily as a central bulk repository, or Data Lake, for cloud-native applications. It allows data to be stored in a secure environment. Data can be searched and queried for the purpose of data analytics. Furthermore, Amazon S3 allows for scalable storage. This removes the guesswork for storage needs and allows for greater flexibility.
What is an Amazon Machine Image?
Amazon Machine Image (AMI) is an OS, or application, that provides the information used to create a cloud-based virtual server. Each of these virtual servers is referred to as an instance.
Once an instance is launched it can be interacted with. This is similar to how a computer operates. Multiple instances can be launched within an AMI. Likewise, instances can be launched across multiple AMIs as needed. An AMI regulates the permissions that allow which AWS accounts can access information and launch instances.
How Secure Is AWS?
Cloud computing security provides all the benefits of traditional IT security. This would include protecting sensitive information from malicious hackers, unauthorized access, leakage, and deletion.
However, one distinct advantage of cloud computing security is its flexibility. As data is flexible, so too is the structure of data security provided.
For example, under traditional IT security methods an in-house data center stores client data. This can be a distinct disadvantage, for globalization, as some countries require data to be stored in their country. The costs of maintaining security for the hardware will also be high. Furthermore, it is more costly to gain additional hardware or upgrade a data server.
Save As Your Business Grows
Cloud security not only allows for the ability to scale but not having to incur the cost of server maintenance. In addition, cloud computing can allow for multiple data centers to be stored across the world. If a client needs the data to be stored in their home country, this can be achieved.
