Sweden recently started a mass notification system in which blood banks send a text message to donors. Donors receive a text message to thank them for their donation. This initiative was then taken to the next level by sending donors a second text, letting them know exactly when their donated blood was used to help another person. With that in mind, this past Sunday was World Blood Donor Day. As blood donation rates are on a worldwide decline, the World Health Organization started a campaign called “Thank You for Saving My Life.” The campaign aims to encourage blood donation by stating that each donation is capable of saving three lives.
Karolina Blom Wiberg, Communications Manager with the Stockholm blood service stated, “We want to give [donor’s] feedback on their effort, and we find this is a good way to do that. We are constantly trying to develop ways to express their importance.”
She believes the feedback program to be a success. Donors are sharing the SMS messages on social media. This increase in visibility will raise awareness. It will also encourage donors to return, and bring in new donors with them.
Setting up a text message system is a great way to keep donors coming back. At IVR Technology Group, setting up a text messaging system is a part of what we do. Our system is called nResponse. With this application you can send a list of contacts voice messages, text messages, and e-mails.
The nResponse system would be an excellent fit for anyone looking to reach a large amount of people at one time. It allows alerts to be sent as constant reminders. At IVR Technology Group, we make mass communication easy, efficient, and effective. When a user logs in, their message is customizable and able to be sent out when needed.
Customization is important when it comes to communication.
- Do some customers prefer text messages, while others prefer voice or email?
- Need to send your message in more than one language?
- Does your message need to be sent at a specific date and time?
Messages can easily be customized and sent out within minutes using our system. Then, you can see reports to find out who got your message and measure its impact. Charities, schools, churches, and emergency management systems clearly benefit from this service. However, it’s also good for your business and your brand. With nResponse, you have the capability to reach thousands of people instantly. You can promote special offers, send updates, or send a payment reminder to your customer base.
Communication is key when it comes to raising awareness. By showing the customer the impact of their actions, it can increase awareness and support. Best of all, customization can be use to speak with your customers in the way that they prefer.
