BUFFALO, N.Y. – Feb. 19, 2016 — IVR Technology Group, a leader in secure voice and text based applications, and CommuniGate Systems, a leader in carrier grade Unified Communication applications announced plans to create a joint venture to commercialize ActiveAuth, an in-call biometric authentication technology aimed at the healthcare market.
ActiveAuth leverages IVR Technology Group’s expertise in building highly secure, HIPAA-compliant voice applications with CommuniGates’expertise in SaaS delivery with mobile and web applications. ActiveAuth, to be available via the Apple and Android marketplaces, will authenticate a patient’s identity during sensitive in-call transactions like requesting access to sensitive medical information or making changes to health coverage plans.
With ActiveAuth, a patient can authenticate their identity using their smartphone while on a call with a live agent. The positive verification of the patient’s identity is then sent to the live agent thereby allowing the conversation to continue.

The two companies will deliver a patent pending, fingerprint authentication application, known as “ActiveAuth,” that will give call centers, healthcare providers, and financial institutions the ability to develop a new generation of clinical applications. The developing platform will utilize in-house developers that can connect within a wide range of industries.
